GWP: Garcia sets record with 9 goals; Dons split pair

It was a great day to play two, and the Santa Barbara High’s girls water polo team earned a split in its pair of matches on Saturday.

The Dons started the day with an 8-6 win over Edison before being outscored 14-11 against Los Alamitos. Jessie Brummett and Jessee Ransone each scored three goals for the Dons. Freshmen Grace Raisin and Georgia Ransone scored their first varsity goals and senior goalie Sienna Goggia made eight saves.

Against Los Alamitos, Kristina Garcia broke out of her scoring slump in a big way, pumping in nine goals to break the school’s single-game scoring record. Jessee Ransone added two goals and Raisin had a team-high four assists and three steals.

Santa Barbara (1-2) hosts Agoura on Tuesday.
