BWP: Royals breeze past Ventura

San Marcos defeated Ventura 14-7 in a Channel League matchup on Thursday. The Royals were able to get a quick 8-3 halftime lead and never let up from that point onward.

“We had a really balanced offensive attack and played very solid defense,” said San Marcos head coach Jeff Ashton.

Ben Hauschild and Jesse Morrison led the team in scoring with four goals apiece. Spencer Wood, George Kuesis, and Miles Cole also chipped in with two goals each.  Goalkeeper Jack Palmer had 13 saves for the Royals.

With the victory, San Marcos improves to 14-7 overall and 5-1 in league.

The Royals travel to the Steve Pal Memorial Tournament in Orange County this weekend. After that, they will return home for a battle against Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
