Santa Barbara High’s girls water polo team won two matches on the first day of the Southern California Championship on Thursday.
The Dons opened with a 13-7 victory over Canyon. Kristina Garcia had 4 goals and 2 assists and Jessie Brummett added 3 goals and 4 assists. Jessee Ransone dished out 4 assists.
All 10 field players had a steal.
Santa Barbara defeated Warren 12-6, as Anna Brummett scored four goals and her younger sister Jessie Brummett had five assists and four steals. Ransone tallied two goals and earned two penalty shots. Sienna Goggia had 13 saves.
The Dons play Corona del Mar in the quarterfinals in its pool on Friday.
