Locals competing in USA Water Polo’s first Futures 50 Classic

Sami Hill, Kiley Neushul, Tiera Schroeder, and Madeline Trabucco are competing in this weekend?s inaugural Futures 50 Classic water polo tournament that pits the nation?s best against each other on teams selected by Team USA.

Hill, Neushul, and Trabucco are are joining forces on Team Beijing while Schroeder is on Team London.

These young women grew up playing water polo with the Santa Barbara Water Polo Club and now attend Stanford, UCLA, and Cal. Hill, Neushul, and Schroeder won three straight Division I CIF Titles at DPHS. Neushul and Schroeder won a fourth title and amassed an incredible 67-0 record over their final two years of high school.

Over the Summer Schroeder and Neushul helped lead Team USA to a World Championship at the 2013 Junior World?s in Volus, Greece. Hill and Neushul are members of Team USA?s Senior National Team. Neushul played for Team USA at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain where they took fifth place. Hill recorded a school record 314 saves while leading UCLA to third place at the 2013 NCAA Championship tournament.

Goalie Madeline Trabucco was a member of the most successful team in Santa Barbara?s storied club history. In 2012-13 Trabucco helped lead Santa Barbara?s 18U girls to two consecutive National Junior Olympic Championships. She also anchored Santa Barbara High School taking the Dons to their first ever CIF Division I Championship Game in 2013.
