Neushul playing in senior, junior water polo world championships

Kiley Neushul is doing double duty for USA Water Polo.

The former Dos Pueblos High star is playing for the U.S. senior and junior national teams in FINA Women’s World Championships.

Neushul, a junior-to-be at Stanford, is one of two local players on the senior team that opens play in on Sunday against Greece in Barcelona, Spain. Santa Barbara alum and 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Kami Craig, is also on the squad.

In a recent tuneup tournament in the Netherlands, Neushul tallied four goals in a pair of matches. She scored two goals in a 14-13 loss to the Netherlands and tossed in two more in an 11-7 victory over Greece. The U.S. beat Canada, 15-8, in its first match.

Following the senior World Championships in Barcelona, Neushul will join the USA team for the FINA Women’s Junior Championships in Volos, Greece, Aug. 19-25.

On the junior squad, she’ll be reunited with Dos Pueblos teammates Tiera Schroeder (Cal) and Kodi Hill (UCLA).
