Cate dropped a tight Tri-Valley League girls water polo match to Malibu on Wednesday, falling to the Sharks 8-6.
While Malibu led for most of the game, the Rams remained within striking distance throughout.
Chloe King scored three times for the Rams. Senior Maddie Schrager, junior Sophia Soriano and sophomore Anna Satterfield added one each.
In the cage, Lane Bhutani blocked 12 shots.
The Rams play Nordhoff in their second TVL match of the week on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
