Nite Moves makes Fiesta kickoff

NeurotopiaWednesday’s Nite Moves marked the opening of Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days with its annual 5k run and 1k ocean swim held on the first night of Fiesta.

The winner of the 5k run, Todd Booth, was the only competitor to break 17 minutes with a time of 16:54. Jayna Jones won the women’s race in 20:50.

NITE MOVES RESULTS

Adrienne Binder posted a season best in the 1k ocean swim and aquathon on her way to victories in both women’s races.

For the men, 15-year-old Alex Valente was fastest, recording a time of 13:53. Binder was second overall with a time of 14:08.

Binder went on to complete the aquathon – the 1k ocean swim followed by 5k run – fourth overall in a total time of 41:02.

Taj Hudson bested Carl Parker by 30 seconds for the men’s aquathon victory. Winning time was 39:30.
