The boys water polo teams at Santa Barbara High and Dos Pueblos will begin their seasons in the top-10 of the Southern Section’s Division 2 rankings. The preseason coaches’ poll was released on Wednesday.
Santa Barbara, at No. 2, is perceived to be stronger than the sixth-ranked Chargers. Agoura is No. 1 and Foothill is No. 3. Last year’s Division-3 champion Laguna Beach moved up to Division 2 and starts the season ranked No. 5.
The Dons and Chargers moved down from Division 1 last season.
Santa Barbara opens its season on Saturday, September 8 on the road at Mira Costa. Dos Pueblos starts on Friday, September 7 at Santana High School.
