SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (2/13/2012)

1) Righetti Warriors (21-4, 10-2 P7) — The Warriors enter the Division 2-A playoff as the No. 6 seed after winning their last five games of the regular season to finish with an overall record of 21-4.

2) Santa Barbara Dons (13-11, 7-5 CL) — The Dons suffered back-to-back losses to San Marcos and Dos Pueblos before a recording a high-quality win over Ventura to close out the regular-season. Because of that inconsistency, it’s hard to say how well the Dons can do in the postseason. They travel to ninth-seeded West Torrance on Wednesday.

3) San Marcos Royals (14-10, 7-5 CL) — The Royals, who won their only game last week, were given the No. 2 seed in Division 3-AA after holding the No. 5 ranking in last week’s CIF polls. San Marcos looks to have a solid playoff draw as its portion of the draw is populated with at-large teams. San Marcos plays a team in Wednesday’s first round that has lost 13 straight and holds a 3-23 record overall.

4) St. Joseph Knights (16-11, 6-6 P7) — The Knights received the No. 4 seed in Division 4A but enter the playoffs having lost three of their last four contests. They open up against Orcutt Academy in an intra-county CIF matchup.

5)  Bishop Diego Cardinals (13-12, 8-2 FL) — The Cardinals move up a spot in the final county rankings having won seven of their last eight games heading into the playoffs. They rise above Cabrillo by virtue of a preseason head-to-head win.

6) Cabrillo Conquistadores (14-11, 10-2 LPL) — The Conqs shared the Los Padres League title with Morro Bay by finishing off their regular season with a 50-44 victory over Templeton. Cabrillo is up against 12th-seeded team San Luis Obispo in its Division 3-A opener.

7)  Dos Pueblos Chargers (7-16, 4-8 CL) — Dos Pueblos captured a win over Santa Barbara on Senior Night but followed that up with a loss at Buena and will not make the playoffs.

On the Bubble:  Village Christian Academy, Laguna Blanca.
