Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for boys basketball each Monday throughout the league season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other from week to week during the season.

The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

This is the fourth week of rankings. CLICK HERE for past weeks.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY’S SUPER SEVEN (1/23/2012)

1) Righetti Warriors (16-2, 6-0 P7) — Unbeaten in 2012, the Warriors have won six Pac-7 games in a row. Their two wins last week over San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles came by an average of 27 points.  On Friday, Righetti plays at St. Joseph in a big hurdle towards an undefeated league season.

2) San Marcos Royals (11-8, 3-3 CL) — San Marcos nearly became the first team to knock off Ventura in a Channel League game since the 2009-10 season last week. The Royals then beat Buena by 19 on Friday to even their league record at 3-3. A huge clash with at Santa Barbara looms on Wednesday.

3) Santa Barbara Dons (10-8, 4-2 CL) — The Dons took sole possession of second place in the Channel League last week with two wins. The pair of victories over Dos Pueblos and Buena came by an average of 18.5 points. Having beat San Marcos in their first meeting, a win on Wednesday would give the Dons a huge leg up on the rest of the league other than Ventura.

4) St. Joseph Knights (13-7, 3-3 P7) — Tomorrow’s game against Mission Prep will be a good indicator to see where the Knights are at. St. Joseph has split its first six league games but posted impressive victories in the preseason over Santa Margarita and Fremont, then won four games at the Las Vegas Invitational.

5)  Bishop Diego Cardinals (9-11, 4-1 FL) — The Cardinals have won three in a row and are 4-1 in Frontier League play. Their one loss came from league-leading Malibu. Elias Munoz averaged 25 points in Bishop’s two wins last week.

6) Cabrillo Conquistadores (9-8, 6-1 LPL) — A 6-1 record in LPL competition has Cabrillo soaring in January.

7)  Dos Pueblos Chargers (5-12, 2-4 CL) — Dos Pueblos has Channel League wins over Santa Barbara and Buena. The Chargers host Ventura and Buena this week.

On the Bubble:  Village Christian Academy, Cate Rams.
