Warriors start strong, hold off Rams

The Carpinteria boys water polo team jumped out to a 4-0 lead, and was able to hold off a run by Cate in an 11-7 victory.

Ben O’Hara had a fantastic offensive game and finished with six goals for the Warriors.  Alan Chavez had three goals, and Cole Gill added two more.

For Cate, Greg Cusack had four goals, and helped lead his team back to within two goals with just under four minutes in the match.  But the Rams relentless offense also left the defense vulnerable, and Carpinteria was able to put the game out of reach.

Cate continues their season on Friday at Nordhoff.

Carpinteria (7-10 overall, 2-1 league) will go for their second consecutive Tri-Valley League victory at Oaks Christian on Friday.
