The Dos Pueblos boys water polo team was defeated by the narrowest of margins in its first game at the Pal Tournament in Orange County, losing to Dana Hills 10-9.
Sjors Van Alphen led the team with three goals while Grant Schroeder finished with two.
Phillip Bates had a fine game in the goal with 11 saves.
The loss places the Chargers in the 5th-8th place bracket and they will continue play in the tournament tomorrow.
