While most of the universe was glued to the television, watching the USA vs. Japan in the Women’s World Cup soccer  finale,  closer to home was more finals action “in full swing.”

The Cathedral Oaks Athletic Club hosted the 2011 Santa Barbara Patrons Junior Tennis Circuit.

“We had incredible conditions for tennis this weekend and had a wonderful tournament,” said Hugh Stratman, COAC  Tennis Director.

Both he and Liz Frech, the Dos Pueblos tennis coach, served as co-directors for the weekend tourney.

With some round-robin and tournament play, young tennis players continue their tour of local tennis facilities. Next stop is the Tennis Club of Santa Barbara on July 30 and 31.
