Gottlieb leaves UCSB for head coaching job at Cal

Lindsay Gottlieb led the Gauchos to a Big West Championship in her first year with the Gauchos. The sophomore head coach was named Big West Conference Coach of the Year for her success.

UCSB women's basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb is going back from where she came.Gottlieb is returning to Cal to take over as its new women's basketball coach. She served three years as an assistant and later as the Associate Head Coach at Berkeley under Joanne Boyle before coming the Santa Barbara. Gaucho women to play at USC in WNIT

The co-Big West champion UCSB women’s basketball team will play in its 14th postseason in the last 15 years after receiving a bid into the postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Monday.The Gauchos, 19-11 overall, will play at USC on Thursday. Game times will be announced by the WNIT on Tuesday. Gauchos think pink, run win streak to four games

The Thunderdome was a sea of pink on Sunday afternoon as UCSB spectators, players, coaches and staff all wore the color for its annual Pink Zone game, held to raise breast cancer awareness. CORVALLIS, Ore. - UCSB (2-5) captured its second win of the season on Saturday defeating Oregon State, 59-53, at the Beavers' Gill Coliseum.The Gauchos shot 43.4 percent from the field while holding the Beavers to 31.9 percent, a season-low for UCSB opposition.
