MSoc: L.A. Mission feasts early on SBCC

L.A. Mission scored three goals in the first 15 minutes on Tuesday and went on to beat SBCC 4-1 in a WSC men’s soccer match at El Cariso Park in Sylmar.

The Eagles (10-3-5, 8-1-4) moved into a tie for first with Oxnard (9-3-1) at 28 points. The Vaqueros are in fifth place with records of 8-4-6 and 4-3-6.

Santa Barbara is 16th in the Southern Cal RPI with three games left. The top 14 make the playoffs. Aaron Aaberg scored in the 86th minute for the Vaqueros.

“It was a disappointing afternoon on a cold day,” said coach John Sisterson. “We just didn’t perform like I thought we would.”

Santa Barbara travels to Glendora to take on Citrus on Friday at 1 p.m.
