San Marcos kept alive its shot at a Channel League championship by defeating Ventura on Tuesday 12-9.
The Royals never trailed in the second half on their way to victory. Jesse Morrison and George Kuesis scored four goals each to account for a bulk of San Marcos’ offensive output. Spencer Wood, Miles Cole and Brenden Ring added goals while goalie Jack Palmer saved 10 shots.
San Marcos, which improves to 6-1 in the league standings, travels to Santa Barbara (7-0) in the regular-season finale on Thursday.
