The Cal Cup completed a Summer Slam for Rottman, as he won four tournament championships over two weeks. He won the AVP First Junior event and AAU Junior National 14s title with Briggs, and captured the AAU Mixed National Championship with Santa Barbara-Providence freshman Keara Rutz.

Rottman’s run of victories followed 10 days of training at the USA Volleyball High Performance indoor camp in Iowa. He was one of 12 14 year old boys from around the country to be picked for a USA Select team in the Intermediate Youth Division. His team finished sixth in the competition. Prior to that, he played with his Santa Barbara Coast Volleyball Academy club team at the Junior Olympics in Columbus, Ohio, where it finished in ninth place.
