Rams have no issues with Coast Union

Playing under the lights at Carpinteria High School, Cate’s 8-man football team cruised past visiting Coast Union, 55-13, in a non-league game.

Cate dominated from the outset and scored three first-quarter touchdowns. Pierce Lundt, Isaiah Washington and Dean Smith each scored a pair of rushing touchdowns as Cate improves to 2-0. Clinton Hall and Ryder Dinning added touchdowns for Cate.

Keller Mochel, Lundt, Ajibola Bodunrin, Jacob Meyer and Henry Dawson led the defensive effort.

“It was a solid effort from all of our guys,” reported Rams assistant coach Dave Soto. “I’m thrilled that everyone who suited up was able to get some playing time. We did a lot of things very well and we will look to keep getting better as our season goes on.”

Cate plays again next Saturday against Chadwick in a game to be played on campus.
