Santa Barbara survived the heat and Thousand Oaks at the same time on Tuesday night, defeating the Lancers 18-25, 25-19, 26-24, 29-27 in a non-league match in J.R. Richards Gym.
Lourda Weger’s 26 kills led Santa Barbara on the attack, supported by 17 kills from Jessyca Beksa. Libero Megan Seaburry led the defensive effort.
“It was a good win for the Dons,” said Santa Barbara head coach John Gannon. “We fended off a hot opponent in a hot gym.”
The Dons host Westlake on Thursday.
