With its strong performance at the Los Altos Tournament, the Carpinteria boys water polo team cracked the CIF rankings this week.
The Warriors, who went 4-1 at the tournament against teams from higher divisions, are ranked ninth in Division 6. League rival Malibu is No. 3 in the division.
Santa Barbara, which hosts Malibu on Tuesday, is fourth in Division 2 and San Marcos is sixth.
In girls volleyball, Cate remains the No. 1 team in Division 4A. Laguna Blanca is third in 4AA. The Owls will test themselves on Tuesday night against Division 1A Santa Barbara.
Division 1A No. 7-ranked San Marcos and No. 8 Ventura square off in a Channel League opener at the Thunderhut on Tuesday.
