A balanced scoring attack sparked San Marcos to a 13-3 rout over visiting Claremont in a non-league boys water polo match on Saturday.
The Royals, coming off a loss against Righetti, had four players score two or more goals. Miles Cole led the way with four goals, George Kuesis added three and Ben Spievak and Adam Fuller tallied two apiece. Spencer Wood and Jesse Morrison each scored one goal.
“We played really good team water polo today,” San Marcos coach Jeff Ashton said. “Miles Cole did a great job battling through illness and giving us a great center presence. The whole team played solid defense and we got a great performance from Jack Palmer as well.”
Palmer made 11 saves on the day.
San Marcos (5-4) blew the game open with seven goals in the second period to take a 9-1 halftime lead
