3rd Annual Strength to Give charity event at CrossFit Pacific Coast

Proceeds from charity event will benefit Transition House

August 19th 2015 Santa Barbara, CA – When Traver Boehm and Eric Malzone started CrossFit Pacific Coast, they made giving back to the community one of the core tenets of their business. Over the last two years CrossFit Pacific Coast and its members have raised over thirty thousand dollars for local charities. Proceeds from this years Strength to Give event will benefit Transition House, a local Santa Barbara non profit that provides secure permanent housing to in need families. Transition House provides solutions to the the cycle of poverty-based homelessness. Each year they help 150 homeless families to acquire the tools necessary for self-sufficiency.

The 3rd annual Strength to Give will be held on September 19th at 220 East Cota Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Participants will complete a specially designed workout of the day (WOD) that includes elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio. All exercises can be scaled based on any level of fitness and no experience is necessary. The workout will begin at 10am and will be followed by food and refreshments from the burger bus and Figueroa Mountain Brewery. Participants can get involved by signing up to compete in the workout ($30 signup fee with t-shirt), sponsoring an athlete, or simply by donating at the website www.strengthtogive.com. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Transition House.

CrossFit Pacific Coast opened their doors with the mission of providing the highest level of coaching and wellness support to their clients, and have been able to accomplish this is by continually adding classes and services that can benefit their members. CrossFit Pacific Coast is located at 220 East Cota Street in downtown Santa Barbara. They employ a team of fourteen certified coaches and train over 200 athletes, including sports programs at San Marcos High Schooo, Dos Pueblos High school, and Santa Barbara High school. They offer private training, nutritional counseling, team training, self defense program, weight-lifting seminars, and lots more.
