Jade Sinskul clobbered a pair of home runs for Dos Pueblos on Wednesday, leading the Chargers to a 5-2 victory over Rio Mesa.

Madison Pickett added a third home run for the Chargers, who scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the bottom of the sixth. Rio Mesa had taken the game’s first lead with two runs in the top of the third.

Both of Sinskul’s homers were two-run shots and the junior finished with four RBI.

The victory was Dos Pueblos’ 20th of the season, making it five straight years that the Chargers program has made it to that number. They are a combined 114-28-1 in that time.

Rio Mesa, which falls to 12-7 overall, is in first place in the Pacific View League.

DP pitcher Veronika Gulvin earned her 11th win of the season. Chargers head coach Jon Uyesaka credited several defensive plays, including a diving catch in the outfield by Sirena Perez that helped keep Rio Mesa from scoring more.

Dos Pueblos can clinch the Channel League title in its next game at Buena on Friday.
