San Marcos suffered its fourth one-run loss in Channel League, as Buena scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 baseball win on Friday.
Jack Coupart drove in two runs to tie the game for the Bulldogs. Austin Rubick struck out six in six innings and Zane Chittenden threw one scoreless inning to earn the win.
Sean Nakano-West pitched well for San Marcos, allowing two runs in the 6 2/3 inings. Blake Katsev and Nolan Cope each had two hits to lead the offense.
San Marcos is 6-12-1 and 1-7 in Channel League. Buena improves to 12-6 and 4-2 in league.
