San Marcos traveled to the Monterey Peninsula on Tuesday for a match with RL Stevenson and Palma on a windy day at Poppy Hills Golf Course.
The Royals shot 219 as a team but lost to Palma’s 207 and Stevenson’s 203.
Stevenson’s Nick Simmons carded the day’s lowest round with a three-over 39.
“There were some very difficult conditions today, and we had never seen the course before. So I was very proud of the team for hanging in there today,” said San Marcos’ Chris Wong, who led the team with a 41.
Poppy Hills is the location of this year’s CIF State Championship.
