Carpinteria suffered its first boys volleyball loss of the season, falling to Ventura, 25-22, 25-18, 28-26, in a non-league match on Wednesday.
Victor Saldana led the Warriors with 10 kills, while middle blocker Mason Picerni had six kills and three blocks. Setter Jose Angeles had 20 assists.
Carpinteria is 4-1 on the season.
