BSoc: Acheampong, Contreras, Delgado named TVL MVPs

Cate and Carpinteria players earned MVP honors for boys soccer in the Tri-Valley League.

Cate senior midfielder and UCSB-bound Geoffrey Acheampong was named the league’s Offensive MVP while Carpinteria senior Diego Contreras was honored as the Defensive MVP and senior Edward Delgado of the Warriors was selected as the top goalkeeper.

Cate and Carpinteria shared the league title.

Each school had three players picked to the All-TVL first team. The Cate honorees include defenders senior Patrick Thomas and junior Joel Serugo and senior midfielder Iman Fardghassemi. Carpinteria’s first-team members are senior forward Victor Saldana, senior midfielder Francisco Arroyo and junior defender Jobhany Elizarraraz.
