RIVERSIDE — UCSB rolled through its competition at the Lancer Mini-Tournament on Saturday, as the Gauchos won back-to-back matches in dominant matches. They downed Pomona-Pitzer 13-3 and later went on to topple Whittier 16-5, tying a season-high in goals scored.
Santa Barbara is now an even 4-4 on the season after its perfect 2-0 weekend at Cal Baptist.
The Gauchos kept the pressure on Pomona-Pitzer by scoring at least two goals in every quarter. Miranda Schrader led her team with three goals, followed by Taylor Shore’s two goals
Santa Barbara scored early and often against Whittier, tallying the first four goals of the match.
The Gauchos took a five-goal lead into halftime and would continue their domination in the second half with most of their damage came in the fourth quarter.
