Cate couldn’t find an offensive spark an fell to Nordhoff, 7-4, in a Tri-Valley League girls water polo match on Thursday.
“The offensive spark never quite materialized despite the numerous chances,” Cate coach Nathan Alldredge said.
The Rams were missing the energy and tempo of senior captain Anna Satterfield, who was sidelined with an injury.
Alldredge said the Rams were frustrated by Nordhoff’s shallow pool. They had two goals called back due to off-the-bottom calls.
Lydia Stevens scored two goals to lead Cate (2-5, 1-3).
