MBK: Carlin’s last-second shot lifts Westmont, 68-67

Daniel Carlin hit a 3-footer with five seconds left, lifing Westmont to a 68-67 non-conference men’s basketball victory at Pomona Pitzer on Saturday night.

Cory Blau hit a 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 66-65 lead with less than a minute to go. But Pomona Pitzer responded with an 18-footer to retake the lead.

After a timeout, Westmont worked the clock down and got the ball to Carlin at the low post. He spun into the lane, pump faked and put up a shot that rolled around the rim and fell in.

Pomona Pitzer missed a desperation shot at the buzzer.

Westmont improves to 6-4.
