San Marcos spread its offense around and defeated Eisenhower 59-48 in the opening game of the 32-team La Salle D1-Bound Classic basketball tournament in Pasadena on Friday.

Four players scored in double figures for the Royals, who are coming off a championship at Carpinteria’s Bashore Cage Classic. Kele Mkpado scored 14 points to lead the team. Connor Everman had 13 points, Scott Everman added 12 pointsand Ryan McCarthy chipped in 11. Scott Everman also had six rebounds and six assists, and Mkpado grabbed six boards.

“It was a great team win,” San Marcos coach Landon Boucher said. “We were very pleased with Connor Everman and Ryan McCarthy. To see the boys share the ball like they did, was pretty special.”

San Marcos plays Long Beach Millikan on Saturday at noon.
