Charger wrestlers bring home four champions

Four Dos Pueblos wrestlers won division titles, leading the Chargers to the team championship at the 10th annual Pete Duca Invitional at Pioneer Valley High in Sant Maria.

The meet included most of the schools in northern Santa Barbara County as well as schools from San Luis Obispo County. Dos Pueblos won with 246.50 points. Pioneer Valley was second with 237 and Righetti third with 214 points.

The weight class champions for the Chargers were Ryan Fidel at 106 pounds, Josh Murphy at 132, Jeffy Uyesaka at 145 and Jonathan Coronado at 170. Noah Stevens was runner-up at 126 pounds. Third-place finishers included Gama Perez (120), Blair Middleton (132), Alan Ramirez (160) and Patrick Konkol (195).

The other place finishers for DP included Jose Murillo (4th at 113), Jason Hu (4th at 152), Diego Lopez (4th, 170), Damien Pennington (4th, 220), Will Fader (6th, 275) and Parker Sassola (7th, 152), Matthew Schmidt (7th, 182).
