Three Warriors make All-GSAC team

Josh Glover, Muhammad Mehai and Tanner Wolf have been included on the 2014 All-Golden State Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Team.

As the Warriors’ stopper, Glover leads the GSAC with a goals-against average of 0.92 this season. The sophomore has tallied 57 saves and has a record of 7-5-2. Glover has also notched three shutouts and two combined shutouts.

Mehai has also been a key ingredient in a Warrior defense that has that has held its opponents to just 14 goals (fewest in the GSAC) and 174 shots (second fewest in the GSAC). Mehdi, a Carpinteria High School alum, has logged the most minutes of any Warrior this season.

Wolf has played a critical role in the attacking midfield this season. He is tied for most goals (four) on the team with Cody Howen and has two assists. Of his 21 shots this season, 11 have been on goal for a .524 percentage. He has also contributed two winning goals, including one in the final second of the game against Arizona Christian.

Westmont (8-5-2) opens Golden State Athletic Conference tournament play today at Thorrington Field where they will host The Master’s (9-8-1). The Warriors enters the first round play as the number four seed while the Mustangs are the number five seed. The winner will advance to Saturday’s semifinals.
