Dos Pueblos rebounded from a one-goal loss to Long Beach Wilson, beating Miramonte, 17-15, to finish in seventh place at the Memorial Cup water polo tournament in Palo Alto on Saturday.
The Chargers lost 15-14 to Wilson. Blake Parrish finished with five goals, Quinn Peacock added four and Jake Griffin had three. Against Miramonte, Parrish was unstoppable, pouring in 11 goals. Goalie Kyle Krutenat made 10 saves.
Coach Chris Parrish praised the play of Griffin in the Miramonte game. “He had an awesome all-around game,” said the coach. Griffin had five assists, three goals and was solid on defense.
