Kelsie Bryant and Nick DePuy thrive in the big matches.

Bryant, a Carpinteria High senior, captured the Tri-Valley League girls tennis singles title, giving her four straight league individual championships in her career. DePuy, a sophomore, scored game-winning goals against UC Davis and Cal Poly, lifting the UCSB men’s soccer team to a Big West Northern Division title and a giving it home-field advantage in the conference tournament.

Bryant and DePuy’s performances earned them Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

Bryant accomplished a rare feat by winning a fourth straight league singles title. She’s dropped only 10 games all year en route to a 46-0 record.

DePuy scored a 99th-minute golden goal to beat UC Davis 1-0 and tallied a pair of first-half goals in a 2-0 win at Cal Poly.

With his three goals on the week, the 6-4 DePuy now has seven goals in 11 games since moving from the midfield to forward. Five of those goals have been game winners.

The male honorable mention choices for the award were Bryan Guijarro (UCSB cross country), Matt Shotwell (Bishop Diego football), Martin Millett (SBCC football) and Chris Wasjutin (Dos Pueblos cross country).

The female honorable mention selections include Brooke Lillywhite (Westmont soccer), Erica Schroeder (San Marcos cross country), Mattea Kilstofte and Madison Hale (Santa Barbara High tennis) and Kaitlyn Crooker (SBCC soccer).
