Maddie Brooks scored four times and Alex Brown made nine saves on Thursday to help SBCC edge Saddleback 9-7 in a nonconference women’s water polo match at Mission Viejo.

Rocio Fesembeck had two goals, three steals and three drawn ejections for the Vaqueros (13-10), who extended their win streak to 7. Autumn Lovett also had a pair of goals and three drawn ejections.

Saddleback, which competes in the Orange Empire Conference, fell to 12-9.

“Everyone stepped up and today was truly a team victory,” said coach Chuckie Roth. “Maddie Brooks scored three second-half goals and Alex Brown played a great game in the cage.

“We were composed and made several adjustments throughout the course of the game.”
The Vaqueros led 5-4 at intermission and 6-4 entering the final period.
