San Marcos defeated Ventura 8-7 in a Channel League matchup on Tuesday. The Royals led 5-0 after getting off to a fast start midway through the second quarter and were able to maintain the lead on their way to victory.
“Ventura kept battling and chipping away at our lead. Fortunately, we were able to regroup and come out on top,” said San Marcos Jeff Ashton.
The Royals were led by two goals apiece from Miles Cole and George Kuesis. Goalkeeper Jack Palmer had nine saves on the day.
With the victory, San Marcos improves to 12-6 overall and 3-0 in League.
The Royals play next in a big-time Channel League matchup on the road versus Santa Barbara on Thursday.
