Missing its top two scorers, Cate’s boys water polo team fell to Villanova on Friday in the Tri-Valley League opener, 10-5.
Alex Brown and Zach Allen scored 10 of Cate’s 11 goals in the Rams’ previous game but neither were available on Friday. Without their go-to scorers, the Rams had five different players score once each: Morgan Pierce, Will Hogue , Christian Herman, Julian Maes and Ben Jessup.
Villanova led 8-2 at halftime.
Cate falls to 4-1 on the season and can get back on track on Wednesday at Malibu.
