Ventura held serve on Tuesday against Santa Barbara High, handing the Dons a 9-7 defeat in a Channel League boys water polo match. It was the second meeting between the two schools in less than a week. The Dons won last week at home.
Ventura’s aggression posed a big problem for Santa Barbara defensively, as the Dons surrendered four goals on counterattacks.
Santa Barbara was unable to capitalize on multiple goal-scoring opportunities, according to coach Mark Walsh.
Jack Rottman and Henry Hepp each fired in two goals, while Chris Bartholomew added three assists and a goal of his own.
Santa Barbara drops to 13-7 overall and 1-1 in league.
