Sophomore Ben Cable stepped in at goalie for Dos Pueblos and keyed a 19-10 non-league boys water polo victory over Servite on Saturday.
Cable, filling in for starter Kyle Krutenat, made six saves and had two assists. Both teams were missing players for the game.
“Ben played great in goal,” raved DP coach Chris Parrish.
Blake Parrish paced the DP attack with 10 goals. Taylor Gustason added four goals, Dylan Elliott and Quinn Peacock scored two apiece and Jason Teng had one.
“Taylor Gustason did well at the offensive end, earning three ejections to go with his four goals,” said coach Parrish.
Elliott had three assists and three steals and “played an all-around game,” said Parrish.
Peacock had two assists, a steal and a drawn ejection in his return to the lineup.
The Chargers improve to 9-7 on the season.
