GLF: Sestak paces Royals past Buena

Mallory Sestak led all five San Marcos golfers in the 40s, and the Royals breezed past Buena, 231-300, in a Channel League girls golf match at Sandpiper Golf Course on Thursday.

Sestak made five par putts en route to a 43, earning medalist honors. Remi Ho was one stroke back at 44.

“Mallory and Remi played really well today,” San Marcos coach Sarah Ashton said. “Mallory was the medalist for the match, had five pars to lead the way for us today and Remi played very consistently as well.”

The Royals improved to 10-1, 2-0, setting up a first-place showdown with Dos Pueblos on Tuesday.
