Stein named to All-State baseball team

Carpinteria’s Kevin Stein and three members of Santa Ynez High’s CIF championship team have been named to Cal-Hi Sports All-State Baseball Team for small schools.

Stein was a three-year varsity starter and a team captain for the Warriors. He batted .386, with an on-base percentage of .469 and a slugging percentage of .585. He led the team in hits (27), runs (18), RBIs (18) and home runs (3).

CAL-HI ALL-STATE TEAMS

Stein earned All-Frontier League honors and was chosen to the Presidio Sports All-City team.
He’s verbally committed to play baseball at UMass-Amherst.

Zach Snyder, Zach Torra and Colby Barrick earned All-State honors. The trio led Santa Ynez to the CIF-SS Division 5 title and a 29-1 record.

Snyder, the Division 5 Player of the Year, batted .443, with 25 RBIs and went 10-0 as a pitcher with a 1.45 ERA.

Torra, a sophomore pitcher, went 11-0 and posted an impressive 0.58 ERA. Barrick, an outfielder, was the big bat in the Pirates’ lineup. He hit .438 and led the team in runs, doubles and triples.
