Santa Barbara High sophomore Natasha Feshbach broke two longstanding school records on Saturday at the CIS-ss Division 2 Prelims held in Moorpark.

COMPLETE D2 PRELIMS RESULTS

Feshbach set new marks in the 100 hurdles and the 200 meters. Feshbach’s time of 14.23 in the 100 hurdles broke Cheryl Lindberg’s record set in 1980. In the 200, Feshbach crossed in 25.49, breaking Katie Upton’s time from 1976. The old records had been adjusted because they were made when the distances were measured in yards instead of meters.

Feshbach’s amazing day included qualification for next week’s CIF Finals in the 100 hurdles and long jump.  Her best long jump attempt measured 17′ 10.5″.

Kelli Martindale also qualified for finals. Martindale will be seeded sixth in the triple jump thanks to a leap of 36′ 7.75″

Skyler Payovich just missed out on advancing, but did set a personal record. Payovich finished in 10th place in the discus with a throw of 150′ 9″.

Next week’s CIF Finals are at Cerritos College.
