SFT: Warriors erupt for 13-2 victory

Natalie Saito drove in four runs and pitched a four-hitter, leading Carpinteria to a 13-2 softball win over La Reina on Tuesday.

The Warriors rapped 14 hits in the Tri=Valley League home win. Scarlett Pettine went 4-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored. Shannon Callaway was 3-3 and scored three runs. Sierra Diaz had two hits, three RBIs and scored two runs, and Saito had a pair of hits.

“It was an excellent turn around from our previous game,” Carpinteria coach Henry Gonzalez said. “We played with a spirited focus and execution on offense and defense. We played the way we are capable.”

Carpinteria is 5-19 overall and 2-7 in the TVL.
