Kento Perera of San Marcos lost only one game in sweeping his three singles sets against Santa Barbara.

Freshman Kento Perera continued to dominate at No. 1 singles for San Marcos, but Santa Barbara High was strong at the other spots and beat the Royals 12-6 in a Channel League boys tennis match on Tuesday.

“San Marcos has a good team so I am pleased with the way our team worked hard the entire match,” said Dons coach Greg Tebbe. “We had some close sets in doubles but our guys toughed them out and gave us breathing room after the second round, where we led 9-3. Our seniors Morgan Hale and Ryan Chung led the way by going 3-0 in doubles and our singles players were sharp today as they won 6 out of 9 singles points.”

Jordan Rodnick, Logan Lender and Max Mercurio all won two sets in singles for the Dons.
