Bishop Diego standout linebacker Thomas Lash has decided to attend the University of Utah and join the football team as a preferred walk-on, his father, Alan, told Presidio Sports.

Utah competes in the Pac-12 Conference.

Lash, a Presidio Sports All-City player and an All-Tri-Valley League first-team selection, was contacted by Utah recruiting coordinator Morgan Scalley with the preferred walk-on offer.

Lash was being recruited by Georgia State and Montana, and received interest from University of San Diego and Cal Poly. He plans to major in engineering.

“Thomas is very excited to be a Ute,” said his father. “He will leave June 12th to start summer school and workouts with the team.”

“We’re extremely proud of Thomas,” said Bishop Diego head coach Tom Crawford. “Not only is he athletically talented, he is also a great model of what can be accomplished by setting goals and committing fully to them.  Utah has secured a great player!”
