San Marcos jumped on St. Joseph for five runs in the second inning, and pitcher Hailee Rios struck out 16 in 6-3 win non-league softball win over the Knights on Friday.
San Marcos improves to 3-0.
Cara Christian, Stephanie Swann and Rios all had two hits, a RBI and scored a run.
Swann, Christian and Rios hit run-scoring singles in the big second inning.
The Royals added a run in the fourth on a double by Lyana Gonzalez.
