PBB: Late-inning runs lift Dons over Righetti

Santa Barbara scored two runs in the seventh inning and beat Righetti, 3-1, in a Central Coast Tournament game on Tuesday.

Gabe Grandcolas picked up his second win, scattering seven hits and stranding eight Warrior runners.

Santa Barbara tied the score at 1-1 in the sixth on a two-out single by Skyler Sabado and a RBI double by Grandcolas.

In the seventh, Ian True was hit by a pitch, was sacrificed to second by Jack Damen, and scored when Dalton Schroeder beat out a bunt and collided with the first baseman. Schroeder then scored the final run on a single to right by Tim Stickles.

Trevor Moropoulos and Kevin Gowdy pitched a scoreless seventh, with Gowdy earning the save with a bases-loaded strikeout.

Santa Barbara (3-0) hosts San Luis Obispo on Thursday in the continuation of the Central Coast Tournament.
