BVB: Royals sweep Santa Ynez

San Marcos boys volleyball hosted Santa Ynez in a non league contest. San Marcos won the match with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, and 25-21.

Top-ranked San Marcos got a match in during spring break, sweeping Santa Ynez, 25-12, 25-18, 25-21, on Friday night at the Thunderhut.

“We did a fine job of scheduling a good opponent at the end of spring break to prepare us for league play in the upcoming weeks,” San Marcos coach Roger Kuntz said. “Many players got touches tonight to help us with our depth and distribution was solid.”

Five hitters had at least five kills per set for the Royals (16=1). They were Connor Everman, Nick Rockwell, Cole Wenal, Taylor Mann and Baker Johnson.

Setter Christian Widmer had 33 assists on the night.

San Marcos hosts Ventura on Tuesday night in a Channel League match.
