Laguna Blanca’s boys volleyball team scrapped together a 25-14, 26-28, 23-25, 30-28, 16-14 victory over Arrowhead Christian on Friday night in a matchup of top-10 teams in CIF Division 5.
“Tonight was a perfect example of what happens if you keep the ball in the court and play defense, matches will go your way,” reported Owls head coach Dillan Bennett. “This was one of the best defensive efforts I’ve seen since I have coached here at Laguna. Ryan Bickett kept us in system on almost every possession, and our middles came through in the clutch.”
Bickett collected 38 digs in the match. Colton Johnson led Laguna Blanca with 16 kills. Andrew Vignolo tallied 12 kills, taking only a third of the attempts as Johnson.
Laguna Blanca (3-0) plays at the Bishop Diego Tournament on Saturday.
